That simple, Biblical Truth was restated by Thomas Jefferson, in his famous words that, “Resistance to tyranny, is obedience to God.”
This column is prompted by a letter to this writer, from a former ‘tax protester’, (let’s call him Larry) explaining that he’s now ‘got religion’ and is therefore making a ‘clean breast’ of it with the IRS. It seems that he has decided to be baptized in a particular ‘religious’ denomination and that one of the requirements for his baptism is, that he pays all taxes demanded by the authorities (not all taxes owed). He says this, following a statement that he knows that he is not a person required to pay said taxes. Well, Satan always did do his best work in the churches. Let it also be noted that the ‘church’ which he wishes to join, has “Inc.” clearly printed on the letterhead, of the accompanying letter, also sent to me, by Larry. Incorporation puts the church under the jurisdiction of the State and,

Let us all remember Larry in our prayers, for he is obviously the victim of confusion and we know that God, our heavenly Father, is not the author of confusion. (1 Cor. 14: 33)
For the benefit of those new to the movement (tax protesters – like early Americans) , let me define ‘tax protest’ as a protest against tax tyranny, not against lawful taxation.
One of God’s Laws is: “Thou shalt not steal”
When lawful taxes are collected by unlawful means, it is theft and those who know it and do not oppose it, share the same curse,** which is upon the thief. Presently, we have a system of indirect tax on certain income, being collected as a direct tax on the source, which is not constitutional, even under the Sixteenth Amendment. Understand, it is not the Amendment, but the clearly illegal, administrative enforcement, which is tyranny. (The Supreme Court has ruled on this. If you keep perusing this web you’ll run into many articles explaining the tax laws by Claire.)
God also makes it crystal clear that we are to, “Honor the Lord with thy substance and with the first fruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty…” Prov. 3:9, 10
But because of the withholding aspect of the income tax as presently enforced, most of the working people in America, are unable to obey God’s law. By not opposing this theft from God, one could be guilty of breaking His Law, by quiet acquiescence. (Also see: Malachi 3:7 – 11)
In Malachi 3:11, God Promises to ‘rebuke the devourer’ if we tithe to Him. There is no greater devourer than the IRS, in material matters.
Further, God’s people are being robbed of exercising one of the great, Divine Laws of Prosperity. Is it any wonder so many are not prosperous these days? Tithing is still a major pillar, in the Law of Giving and Receiving. (If a person were to give on a regular basis not only to the church of his choice, but also to needy members of one’s own family, to the poor, to widows and orphans, where possible and to observe gleaning ( giving away usable things to others such as clothes, furniture etc.) one would lack for nothing. One job lost would soon be replaced with a far better one.)
“He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack; but he that hideth his eyes, shall have many a curse.”
Prov. 28:27
Further, Christians are instructed to do their alms-giving in SECRET.
“But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in SECRET: and thy Father, which seeth in secret Himself shall reward thee openly.” Matt. 6:3-4
Listing church and charitable contributions all over a 1040 tax form, hardly conforms to these Directions of Jesus Christ. So once again, Americans are being robbed of their Father’s reward, through the requirements of the income tax form. ‘Good’ Christians love to quote the passage that says:
“Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s,…” Luke 20:25
But they always forget the last part which says, “…and unto God the things which be God’s.”
Nowhere are we told to render unto Caesar, the things which are God’s – not the tithe, (through withholding, nor our children (through government controlled school systems) nor our church (through incorporation).

(I recall a politician making a promise of distributing wealth. Am I to believe this politician is to “reorder society?”
This ‘re-distribution’ is according to the Rockefeller Plan to turn this country into a Socialist Camp, (already done) so as to more easily merge it with other countries (our continent under one currency – almost there) of the world, into a World Government, run by their dynasty, no doubt. It also involves covetousness, by making the ‘have-nots’ covet the property and wealth of the haves’. (This is why gun sales have increased by the thousands. Don’t trust this rotten government- don’t be stupid – arm yourselves. The riots of the ’60s proved that police won’t do a damn thing when there is civil unrest.)
Russian Communist, Karl Marx, is credited with having said that,
“My object in life is to dethrone God and destroy capitalism.”
(God has almost been 86ed from our country. Capitalism is being destroyed by the communists and socialists in our society. Because of crimes committed by those in Congress (Democrats) that planted the seed to create the economic chaos in our country “capitalism” is being made to be the culprit. I don’t believe no one knew this would happen. I think all this was done intentionally to slip us further into socialism – just as the power at be have always wanted. They have their captain of the team in the White House.
American tax money also goes to the World Bank to cover loans that Communist Russia has defaulted on, for grain payments etc. As a nation, America is aiding (and feeding) the enemies of God. While Christians are told to love THEIR enemies, they are NOT instructed to love God’s enemies.
“Shouldst thou help the ungodly and love them that hate the Lord? Therefore is wrath upon thee from before the Lord.” 11 Chron. 19:2
This is not just treason against our country, it is High Treason against God. To support it in silence, is unconscionable. (Farmers take note)
It is a known fact that those that control things world-wide invented communism. They did this for control and to make lots of money. Our beloved U.S. Constitution has been replaced by the 10 planks of the Communist Manifesto. Google that title – for proof.
So we have a situation here where a man is told he cannot be baptized unless he lies (by claiming he is required to pay taxes, when he knows he is not), and steals from God and be cursed (by not opposing withholding), gives up all reward from his heavenly Father, by making public his alms, condones covetousness, and incurs the Wrath of God, by helping His enemies. Is it any wonder that,
“…Judgment must begin at the House of God.” 1 Peter 4:17
The ‘dumb dog’ ministers, of whom Isaiah speaks shall be called to account.
“His watchmen are blind; they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark;…they are shepherds which cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.” Isaiah 56:10-11
After all, they do have to protect their ‘tax-exempt’ status, when they’re incorporated, don’t they? We know that Satan is the father of lies (John 8:44), a thief, a murderer and a destroyer (John 10:10) and most certainly the enemy of our God. How then can any ‘minister’ or ‘church’ withhold baptism from a person, unless one agrees to lie, finance covetousness, steal, be cursed, obey mans’ laws which are in opposition to God’s laws and give place to the devil?
The mark of the beast must surely be upon such ‘churches’. Those who belong, or who wish to join, would do well to consider the Book of Revelation speaking of Babylon (the organized church system) when it says:
“Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven and God hath remembered her iniquities.” Rev. 18:4-5
Godly men and women were raised up in 1776, to fight against tax tyranny and so have they been raised up again, in our time, two hundred years later, for the same purpose. Those who are persecuted for their stand, or like Gordon Kahl (tax rebel murdered by government), who die because of it, truly wear the martyr’s crown and shall receive their reward.
It is clear to this writer that the reason the churches are beginning to be persecuted by the IRS is to humble them and to see that instead of looking down their noses at the protest against tax tyranny, they join it.
They too, shall lift their voices ever higher and higher in protest, when their ‘ox’ is gored. Those churches which choose to ‘go along to get along’ will pay the price of High Treason against God. Let us see that we are not snared by them, to share their fate…end of article.
The comment on all this is I think organized religion has let us down. Preachers on TV that rip-off the faithful. Perverts in the church. Many that promote socialism and sympathize with regimes like Cuba’s and the mere fact – as Claire points out – giving up their God given freedom by incorporating.
There are many fine organizations that fight this tyranny but many in our society have never heard of them. I’m disappointed at the lack of interest of people of faith. Where are the rallies by the hundreds of thousands of believers to show the rest that we’re also capable of demonstrating just like so many others? Our voices, in unison, are non-existent. We have the numbers that would dwarf any other but those representing the flocks won’t lift a finger. It was President Johnson that got government to curtail political expression by religion, consequently, not a whimper of protest in the past nor in the future.
Every thing religious between my God and me I consider a lost cause. I use the following as a cop-out:
“God in on my mind and heaven is in my heart.” I execute the golden rule as best as I can. But still have hopes that one day we’ll have the likes of a Martin Luther King and a Caesar Chavez to lead us against the ungodly socialist/communist system shoved down our throats.
“I am sorry I have only one bat to swing for my country.”
